HOW MANY CUPPA IS GOOD FOR YOU? ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE 55yrs OR LESS?

The issue of "is drinking coffee good for your heart?" has been swinging back and forth. Initially, the studies found that coffee was bad for you. Then the scientist realised that that may be because of the smoking that often accompany coffee drinking. After teasing out the smoking effects, they found that coffee drinking was not bad for the heart. So it became known that drinking coffee was good for you or rather not bad for you.

Well, a recent study has shed some new information on this subject. Dr Junxiu Liu from the University of Southern Carolina, published her worked in the 15th Aug issue of the Mayo Clinic Proceedings.
Dr Liu and colleagues looked into the "Aerobics Center Longitudinal Study", a cohort of bout 43,727 participants. They were 55 yrs and below The median follow-up period was 17 yrs. It is essentially a retrospective study.
The researchers found that drinking more than 28 cups of coffee per week ( these are the 8oz cups ), was associated with a 21% increase in all cause mortality. The increase incidence is higher if you are males below 55yrs of age. ( 56% ) and even higher, 113% if you are females less than 55yrs ( and if you drink >28 cuppa per week ). Of course, these numbers are in comparison with those who do not drink.
Now these numbers are staggering.

To all the coffee drinkers out there, myself included, everything in moderation please.
