Calling All Private Practice Doctors

The Private Medical Practitioners Association of Selangor and Kuala Lumpur (PMPASKL) needs you to fight for your rights. Thomas Paine once said that if we do not hang together then we will surely hang seperately. This is the essence of the new PRIVATE HEALTHCARE FACILITIES AND SERVICES ACT 1998, and REGULATIONS 2006.

What can you do to ensure that your rights are protected

1) Join us

Joining is as easy as calling Ms Kong at 03-20930100, or 03-20930200. Alternatively you can fax the association at 03-20930900. Furthermore this blog volunteers to collect names to forward to the association. Membership only costs RM 30 a year.

2) Come for the Family Day

We will be organizing a family day on the 18th of June 2006. In the morning there is a fun-and-games, meet-and-greet session for the whole family. After all, the whole point of fighting this act is to ensure that we continue to be able to provide for them.

In the afternoon there will be a forum on the new act/regulation. The Minister of Health has been invited. We hope he attends but there has still been no reply. Should he attend, he will be most welcome to share his side things.

The pricing is as follows (Figures in brackets are for non members)

Before June 12 2006
RM 20 (50)

After June 12 2006
RM 50 (70)

Again, please contact Ms Kong at 603 20930100, 20930200, Fax: 603 20930900

3) Continue to support our events.

Whatever your feelings on the act/regulation, it is inevitably the law of the land. In order to better equip and defend medical practitioners we will be holding workshops on basic life support, ECG, and other practical issues for practitioners who must bear the burden of this law.

Update:
Please ask all Malaysia related bloggers to post this and we will link it here. Also please do post if you will be attending.

We wish to thank MMR for posting this.
