BERSIH 3.0. 28th April 2012. DATARAN MERDEKA :MEDICAL SUPPORT

My mind is all on Bersih 3.0 / 428 sit-in at Dataran Merdeka. This time, the invovlement is more and the preparation more intense.
We already have 7 teams lined up, all around Dataran Merdeka, with about 10 medics in each team. The teams are at 1. Dataran Merdeka itself ( nerve center ), with ambulance support, 2. Central market, 3.  Jln Sultan / Jln Petaling, 4. Masjik Jernek, 5. Masjid Negara, 6. Brickfields, 7. KLCC. The KLCC team will have to assemble early as the Lynas group will be starting at 11am and they have to provide support there.
These points are chosen because the Bersih 3.0 organisers recognises that these are the gathering points for the rally / sit-in. My group has assigned to Jln Sultan / Jln Petaling. The nerve center will have the ambulances and full resus facility. The medic stations will have basic first aid kits, and also protection against tear gas / water cannon, and also a AED ( defibrillator ). I was very impress that companies were prepared to donate / loan these expensive things.
We are given strict instructions to treat ALL in need, including people attending the rally and also the Police too if they need help.
There is also a Bersih 3.0 security group that watches over us and support the whole event, so that nothing gets out of hand. We are aware that recently, some parties have resorted to using violence to intimidate citizen groups. Bersih 3.0 is also prepared for that.
I am happy this time that "the Patriot " group and Perkasa have chosen to stay away. I am gald that MCA and HSBC has allowed their members and staff to attend if they wish. This is maturity.
Of course, we all hope and pray that good sense will prevail, and that we all be allowed to just sit-down in Dataran Merdeka, for 2 hours. I also hope and pray that I am over prepared and have nothing to attend too tomorrow. But we have to prepare for the worse case scenario.
I suppose, in away, we wish that many will turn up at Dataran Merdeka ( I hear that we expect 200,000 ) to ask for clean, free and fair elections. The security and medical support is very good, and there is nothing to fear.
Of course, if you have not got your yellow T shirt by now, you may have problem finding one now, as I hear that they are out of stock now. there are so many different forms of it, I feel like keeping a collection.

See you all at the Dataran Merdeka at 2pm tomorrow. Come early, that may be wise.

There is nothing to fear but fear itself.
