This honors roll was released last week. Mass Gen is top hospital and Cleveland Clinic again retains her position as top cardiac center.

#4	New York-Presbyterian University Hospital of Columbia and Cornell New York, NY Once upon a time, I use to refer patients overseas for cardiac bypass. ( this was in the early 80s), and because of proximity and Commonwealth ties, we use to send them to New Zealand. There was a well reknown cardiac surgeon there called Sir Bryan Barratt Boyles. I have lost touch with him. A few patients also went to the late Dr Victor Chiang. In the late 80s, many patients were refered to Singapore ( Dr Saw Huat Seong ). When I started at Subang jaya Medical Center, the cardiac surgeon supporting me was Dr Simon Yap. I always wondered where Malaysian Cardiac Centers will rank in the above list ( if there is an equivalent list for Asia. I am a bit surprised that New York Presbyterian is ranked lower then John Hopkins. New York Presbyterian is where all the hot-shot Interventionist are. I think they run the biggest cardiac meeting in the world  - the annual "Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics ( TCT )" meeting.
